Well hello, hello! I’m Maria Katrien Heslin, and my friends call me Trie, so I hope you will too. I specialize in helping ambitious college students and fun, vivacious and determined young professionals find work that makes them not just like Monday, but actually love it and love it madly!
I do this work because the world has so much potential, and helping individuals 1) discover what they love to do 2) engage in meaningful work and 3) thrive personally and professionally gets us all one step closer to making the planet better for everybody.
I’ve been so fortunate to help students and professionals from all types of fields identify and attain their next professional challenge — the type of work that fills them with excitement, inspiration and fulfillment.
We do this through a variety of ways — from laser coaching sessions for pinpoint support on any of the career change actions, such as interview training, body language, job search strategies and much more — to the full range of job search power tools (resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, bios, etc.).
Expertise in leadership, strategy, communications, mindset and every element of the job search process provides me with a solid foundation for what I do. Warmth, humor, deep listening skills, energy and enthusiasm establish me as a successful and effective mentor. She says in all modesty.
My background in marketing and personal branding allows me to help my clients differentiate themselves and communicate their strengths, unique value and personal edge across multiple platforms and to the workplaces they really want to work for. My wide-ranging career experiences are also incredibly valuable as a coach.
I’ve served as a COO and have worked in corporate America, the nonprofit arena, government, higher education, small business and entrepreneurship. I have two Master’s degrees, three coaching certificates and a certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University. I’m co-author of a textbook used by 30,000 Indiana University Kelley School of Business students, and a member of the IU faculty, where I love teaching public relations and career success preparation, helping college students figure out and their paths to happiness and success.
On the more personal, up-close side of things, when I’m not working (which isn’t too often because I love working!), I enjoy spending time with friends, family, dogs and cats; advocating for all types of animals; reading; traveling; practicing yoga; taking long walks; drinking strong coffee; laughing; and soaking up news from an incredibly wide range of sources.
Best of all, I truly Love Monday, and I can help you love it, too! Connect with me and let’s see how we can Love Monday together.
